John P. Wiederhold
John P. Wiederhold is a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer and the managing partner of the Firm. Mr. Wiederhold obtained both his undergraduate and law degree from the University of Florida.
After graduation from law school in December 1969, Mr. Wiederhold fulfilled his military obligation in the United States Army. After being stationed in Fort Gordon, Georgia and Seoul, Korea with the Signal Corps, Mr. Wiederhold was honorably discharged in 1972 with the rank of Captain.
Mr. Wiederhold began his legal career in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and was a partner with the Law Firm of Pomeroy, Betts & Wiederhold. Mr. Wiederhold eventually settled in West Palm Beach in 1978 and opened his own law firm in 1983. Focusing mainly on civil defense law, Mr. Wiederhold has tried over 300 jury trials. In addition, Mr. Wiederhold has argued before the Third, Fourth and Fifth District Courts of Appeal and the Florida Supreme Court. Mr. Wiederhold’s experience before these appellate courts has resulted in 80 reported appellate decisions.
On top of his distinction as a Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer, Mr. Wiederhold is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (“ABOTA”) which, at the time of Mr. Wiederhold’s membership, required that an attorney have tried at least 100 jury trials to conclusion. Mr. Wiederhold’s reputation has earned him the preeminent “AV Rating” by Martindale Hubbell and inclusion in the elite list of “Super Lawyers of Florida” for the past several years. He is a member of many organizations including the American Bar Association, the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the Florida Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. Further, Mr. Wiederhold was the founding president of the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Greater Palm Beach County and has been the treasurer of the local chapter of ABOTA for the past 20 years.
Mr. Wiederhold resides in Palm Beach Gardens with his wife Pat and he has two children – a doctor and a lawyer.
